HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - PeopleTec, Inc. is proud to introduce Ms. Joan Smith as the incoming President, effective January 1, 2024. Ms. Smith’s business and engineering acumen has led to significant revenue growth and technical competency expansion at PeopleTec. Joan’s experience spans commercial and government work, including research, development, sustainment, systems and materials engineering, business development, and executive leadership. Ms. Smith completed her Metallurgical and Materials Engineering undergraduate studies at The University of Alabama. She earned her MBA with highest honors from the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Ms. Smith’s technical expertise in aviation and missile systems and prior Government service are aligned with Department of Defense initiatives to address critical national security challenges. In her new role, Joan will continue to foster PeopleTec’s unique culture and proven processes while using her exceptional technical capability to lead with vision, energy, and direction.

Doug Scalf,
Executive Vice President
Simultaneously, PeopleTec, Inc. announces that President Doug Scalf has transitioned into an Executive Vice President (EVP) role as part of his semi-retirement, effective January 1, 2024. Doug co-founded PeopleTec with CEO Terry Jennings in 2005 and has been a leader in the company’s success during the past two decades.

Throughout his career, Doug has been critical in developing and expanding PeopleTec’s technical portfolio in engineering, cybersecurity, modeling & simulation, mission operations & program support, and emerging technologies. In his new role as an EVP, PeopleTec will continue to use Doug's technical expertise, legacy knowledge, and leadership, and he remains a member of the PeopleTec Board of Directors. CEO Terry Jennings expressed her full support of Doug embracing a semi-retirement career phase and assuming the EVP role. She said, “As we continue to enhance PeopleTec’s technical support services to our customers, I am pleased to say that this incremental strategic transition within our leadership team is clear evidence of the technical and executive management skills of Mr. Doug Scalf.”
