PeopleTec Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification

On November 20, PeopleTec Inc. (PeopleTec), an employee-owned small business dedicated to delivering technical excellence to the defense community, proudly announced its successful achievement of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 with a perfect score of 110. This milestone validates PeopleTec’s unwavering commitment to protecting national security and safeguarding the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).

“Achieving CMMC certification is significant. Receiving a perfect assessment score with no deficiencies highlights the maturity and precision of our information security program,” said Matt Pierce, Principal Cybersecurity Engineer at PeopleTec. “Compliance and Security aren't the same thing.  Our approach to CMMC focuses compliance to achieve results in security.”

The certification was attained for PeopleTec’s enterprise network, where managed services are deployed and operated to service and support customers. Achieving CMMC Level 2 certification validates the company’s ability to protect sensitive data, including Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). It also demonstrates the strength and compliance of PeopleTec’s operational environment, enforces a compliant vendor ecosystem, and further enhances the capability of PeopleTec’s services.

PeopleTec is among the first few hundred government contractors in the nation to receive this certification. CMMC requires organizations to implement the 110 practices from NIST SP 800-171, attain 320 prescribed objectives, institutionalize cybersecurity practices, and undergo a third-party assessment to prove compliance.
