November 10, 2020

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - PeopleTec was recognized by U.S. Secretary of Labor, Eugene Scalia, as a GOLD recipient of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during an award ceremony at the U.S. Department of Labor. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes job creators who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

PeopleTec is one of only 58 employers to have earned this award three times since the inception of the program in 2018. PeopleTec joins 674 other companies who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

PeopleTec's CEO, Terry Jennings, is proud of the company's impressive 40% veteran workforce and had the following to say: "Our veterans add a unique and powerful skillset through their leadership perspective, strong work ethic, and mission experience that provides invaluable insight into our mission to successfully support the needs of the Warfighter."

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs - with requirements varying for large, medium, and small employers.
