PeopleTec Wins James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – PeopleTec is honored to receive the 2024 James S. Cogswell Award. The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) bestows this award to companies and facilities within the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) for exceptional security practices and commitment to protecting classified information.
Winning this award is considered a highly prestigious recognition of elite security practices within the defense contracting community. The award gets its namesake from Col. James S. Cogswell, the first chief of industrial security for the Department of Defense, who emphasized the importance of industry-government partnership in safeguarding secrets.
Out of 13,000+ cleared contractors in the NISP, less than 1% receive the Cogswell Award annually. The criteria include exceeding minimum security requirements, providing leadership to other facilities, achieving consecutive superior ratings, and excelling in areas like management support, vulnerability assessments, security education, experienced staff, and material control procedures. Nominees undergo an extensive eight-month vetting process by a DCSA review team before final approval by the DCSA Director.
Terry Jennings, PeopleTec CEO and co-founder, expresses her gratitude for this recognition, stating, “This honor is a testament to the unwavering commitment to security excellence that flows through every level of our organization. From our senior leadership to our facility security team, we have instilled a culture of vigilance and dedication to truly going above and beyond.”
